What it is

Multi-week hybrid summer journalism intensive (virtual classes plus a residential stay at Princeton) for academically excellent students from limited-income backgrounds who are considering a journalism career.

Who it’s for

Full-time high-school juniors with a 3.5 unweighted GPA; family income up to $65,000 or free/reduced lunch or an SAT/ACT fee waiver; U.S. permanent address; not international or B/F/J/M visa holders; first-generation students get priority.

What you’ll likely need

  • Online application with academic and financial details
  • Three short written responses and one longer article
  • Teacher recommendation
  • Transcript, junior-year report cards, and school profile via counselor
  • Round 2: family income documentation
  • Round 3: video interview
